Best Time To Visit Gulmarg. The best time to visit Gulmarg is during the summer season between the months of March and June when the temperature is moderate and apt for sightseeing. I, personally prefer the month of December-January. It's pleasant to see the snowy hills but that time is really cool . You may catch cold in this cold and wet weather. •How to go?•

13 kms from Gulmarg, Alpather Lake is located at a height of 4511 m at the Apharwat peak. The lake is triangular in shape and the snow covered mountains take place in the background. Apart from a picturesque sight, the lake also provides an adventurous opportunity to the visitors, who can take up activities like horse riding and ridge climbing.

The place is visited all round the year by birdwatchers. Also, the reserve provides shelter to endangered wildlife species such as leopards, red foxes and musk deer.
Baba Reshi Shrine
Named after a known Muslim scholar and Saint, Baba Reshi Shrine is 5 kms from Gulmarg and is located at a height of 2133 m above sea level. The saint after whom this shrine was built was a member of the court of King Zain-ul-Abidin. Tourists from different parts of the world, visit here to have a look at the Mughal and Persian style of architecture which makes up the shrine.
Nagin Valley
